Back to knitting

Good Morning Lovely Readers and a warm welcome to Christy, Robin, Squirmy and geierwalli2 - wonderful to have you on board Ladies,

Yesterday was spent at school doing a whole day revision class for my Year 11s so I didn't have time to be creative or to blog, although Mr Thrifty kindly drove me in (25 miles each way) so that he could meet a friend and Stripy Ted (or Billy the Bear as he is known in Nicki Trench's great book) was crocheted in the car ..... he will be with you soon - I promise!

Back to knitting....... regular readers will remember that I made a pledge to finish all my half-completed projects and I have almost done that! One more project to go. Hurrah! I will post them bit by bit and show you. I adore crocheting but I do still love knitting too. There's something about slowing down and going at a simple pace that is very soothing to the soul.

I have completed these for my great niece and nephew who both live in Cornwall. Alfie is 4, but petite and Annabelle is 7 months but quite stocky due to some medication she has had to have.

What do you think?

The  final project that I am putting off is a pair of socks that I started in the most wonderful yarn

It is 100% baby llama called Miski by Mirasol. I can't begin to tell you how divine this yarn is - the softest I have ever felt and if I ever finish the socks they are going to be delightful to wear. You can find out more about the Mirasol Project here http://www.mirasolperu.com/  but what they basically do is support local communities in Peru.

Now my problem is that I started these so long ago that I can't even remember which pattern I used... do I pull this one out and start again or try and work it out? Mmmmm.... decisions.... what would you do?

Anyway, you have a lovely day, I am off to meet an ex-colleague for coffee and cake (I know that won't help the diet Debbie but sometimes you just have to!)

Love Mrs Thrifty
xxx
